Wig Care Tips

Washing Your Wig
  • Brush out gently
  • Place wig in sink or basin and soak in "cold" water
  • Put a small amount of wig shampoo in the palm of your hand, gently squeeze into wig till sudsy - no rubbing
  • Rinse well with "cold" water
  • Put wig in a towel and gently squeeze excess moisture out, use another dry towel if needed - no rubbing
  • Gently shake out and hang on a wig stand to dry. DO NOT brush when wet, if needed spray a fine mist of wig conditioner
  • Wash your wig at night and it should be dry by morning
  • Depending on how often you wear the wig wash once a week or every couple of weeks.
  • These are my suggestions for washing your wig, not the manufacturer. I wore mine for over a year and following my instructions they look as good as new

    Things to Remember
  • Stay away from heat
  • Do not use curling irons or blow dryers
  • Do not wash with hot water
  • Keep your head away from the stove. Steam and the hot rush opening the oven door will ruin the wig.
  • Be careful with cigarette lighters, candles, fireplaces, or steam in the bathroom
  • DON'T brush a wig when wet
  • DON'T brush curly wigs... they will frizz. Use a wide toothed comb

    Styling
  • Use a wig brush, brushing gently
  • Try not to make a definite flat part, brush the part area lightly and then let it fall
  • Don't try to get the wig so perfect, break it up with your fingers looks more natural
  • If you're having problems styling, take it off, shake it and try again
